What days and times are you open?

We can offer you counselling in either Weston-super-Mare or online. We have appointments available in the morning, afternoon and evening across the week, just tell us when you're available and we'll do our best to match it.

How does counselling work?

Your counselling experience will be unique to you. Our counsellors work in a nondirective way which gives you the freedom to explore what is most pressing for you. Your counsellor will offer new perspectives on how you can view your situation and you work together to find a solution. The goal of counselling is to assist you in finding your own solution to whatever is troubling you. It is important for you to find your own solution because what works for you may not work for everyone else, each solution is as unique as each client. To find out more about how counselling works visit our about counselling page or contact us and speak to one of our team.

How many sessions will I need?

This is largely dependent on you and is different for every client. It depends on what issue(s) you are working with, what you want to get out of counselling and how quickly you reach your goals. We know that counselling isn't cheap and won't encourage you to stay longer than you need to but it is also important not to rush the process. Counselling is a chance for you to grow as an individual and everyone grows at different rates. Leaving before you are ready can mean that counselling isn't as effective as it could be for you and you are unable to reach your full potential.

Is counselling confidential?

We take your confidentiality very seriously. We will discuss how we keep your information confidential at your assessment session.

How quickly will I be seen?

We understand that you need support when you ask for it. We will always do our best to book you in for an assessment and then allocate you to a counsellor as soon as possible. The majority of our clients are seen within 2 weeks. We try to be as flexible as possible offering appointments in the mornings, afternoons and evenings during the week. If a Saturday appointment would be best we may be able to arrange this for you. The greater the flexibility that you can offer the quicker you'll be seen. However, if your other commitments mean that you are only available at specific times we will do everything possible to start you working with a counsellor at a time suitable for you as soon as possible.

Why is there a charge for counselling?

We receive no government or local authority funding and so even though all of our counsellors are unpaid volunteers we do have overheads pay. The money that we receive is used to pay our bills with any extra being used to grow the service to enable us to work with more clients.

How much are the fees for counselling?

For individuals, we charge £10 for the initial assessment. Session fees are graduated depending on income from £20-35 per session.

For couples, we charge £20 for the initial assessment. Session fees are graduated depending on income from £30-60 per session.

For home visits, we charge £15 for the initial assessment. There is a flat rate session fee of £25 per session.

Session fees can be paid in cash or by BACS.
